I am a big fan of brunch. Which girl isn't? Except that brunch served in cafes is getting more expensive. Since when did the price of a dish of eggs, toast bread and some veggies proliferated to close to 20$?? Oh well, that is probably the market price of brunch in cafes nowadays. Personally, I feel that if a cafe serves only very ordinary brunch, they should at least have a generous serving to make up for their loss in terms of taste in this emerging competitive "cafe" industry. Among the cafes that i have visited so far, the top 2 brunch places that immediately came to my mind are Maison Ikkoku and Wild Honey. At least now there is a 3rd place that just joined my list of favourite brunch cafes. The Missing Pan is located in the middle of the row of shop houses at Bukit Timah. If you are taking public transport, you may alight at Botanical Garden MRT station. It is only a stone throw away from the station. With a modern design and a relaxing ambience, it is a perfect place for a date with your other half or a catch-up session with friends that you haven met in a while. They have 2 storeys. Their bakery is at the 1st storey while the 2nd storey is catered to dining customers. Apart from the two mains - French Toast Salpicon and 62 Degrees Eggs Benedict, we also ordered additional sautéed mushrooms that turned out to be slightly too salty.
French Toast Salpicon ($19 ++)
The winner of the day. This is the most special french toast I have eaten, integrating both 'sweet' and 'salty' flavors into a dish. The toast is topped with different types of fruits, banana nuggets ( similar to goreng pisang) and chunks of savory chicken underneath or within the toast. Surprisingly, the combination of both sweet and salty flavors in this dish complemented each other really well. Not only is the portion gigantic, it tasted really delicious too. A must order!

62 Degrees Eggs Benedict ($22++)
As the name suggests, these eggs are poached in 62 degrees water. Different from the usual eggs benedict we order in other cafes, they are served with big chunks of smoked salmon with avocado spread on the toast.
